ITINERARY

DAY 1 : NAIROBI- AMBOSELI

Arrive in Nairobi early morning. Met by our team outside the customs hall. Safari briefing will follow.

We drive SOUTH to the Amboseli National Park lying at the foothills of the Majestic Mt. Kilimanjaro.

Check-in at the Ol Tukai Lodge. Leisurely lunch.

Afternoon game drive till sundown. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.


DAY 2 : AMBOSELI

Full day spent in Amboseli. Morning and afternoon game drives.

Meals and overnight stay.


DAY 3 : AMBOSELI – NAIROBI -ABERDARES

Breakfast at the lodge. Game drive en-route, we proceed to Nairobi.

Lunch will be at the Tamambo Restaurant and the we continue  to the Aberdares in the early afternoon.

Part of the Central highlands of Kenya, moorlands and forest is the main feature of this area with altitude in some areas rising as high as 3930 m. It is in the heart of this forest where lies the famous Treehotel – the ARK

Evening transfer to the lodge in the heart of the forest. Game viewing is from the terrace overlooking the water-hole, which is illuminated at night.

Dinner and overnight at the lodge.


DAY 4 : ABERDARES -SAMBURU

 Breakfast at the Ark and the rejoin your safari-guide and drive to Samburu in the Semi-Arid region of Northern Kenya.

We continue our journey past the small trading towns of Timau and Isiolo. Arrival , check-in and lunch at the lodge.

Afternoon game drive in the reserve.

Dinner and overnight at the lodge situated on the shores of Uaso Nyiro River.


DAY 5 : SAMBURU

Early morning and late afternoon game drives

You have the choice during the morning break of visiting one of the traditional Samburu and Borana villages (optional).

Samburu Game Reserve covers an area of 104 sq km on the northern bank of the Uaso Nyiro River, with a river frontage of 16 km.In addition to the rugged splendour of its landscape the very name “Northern Frontier Province” conjures up an image of mystery and adventure.

The permanent water available from the river creates oasis and ensures abundance of wildlife with the main attractions being the unique fauna found only here; Reticulated giraffe, Grevys Zebra, Beisa Oryx, the blue-necked Somali ostrich and the Gerenuk. Lions and leopards are also spotted frequently.

DAY 6 : SAMBURU – MT KENYA ( 165 KMS – 3H)

Breakfast at the lodge. Depart for the Mount Kenya Region and the Sweetwaters Sanctuary.

Arrive at the Camp , check-in and lunch.

Sweetwaters Tented Camp lies in the heart of 24,000-acre Sweetwaters Game Reserve, with magnificent views across the plains to the snow capped peaks of Mount Kenya. The 30 luxury tents overlook the waterhole, floodlit by night, providing excellent and secluded rarely seen game viewing. This game sanctuary is the closest reserve to Nairobi (2.5 hours drive) home to all the big five game, and has the highest ratio of game-to-area of any park or reserve in Kenya.

Afternoon game drive in the sanctuary. The Chimpanzee Sanctuary & Information Centre, Morani the tame black rhino and the Visitor’s Information Centre are most informative and entertaining and should all be visited while in the Game Reserve.

Dinner and overnight stay.


DAY 7 : MT KENYA- LAKE NAKURU

Early breakfast at the Club and proceed to Lake Nakuru National Park.

En-route scenic stop at the Nyahururu Falls.

Check-in for late lunch at the camp.

Lake Nakuru National Park , the world famous haunt for pink flamingos,is a shallow alkaline lake

in Kenya’s Rift Valley and some 62 km2 in extent.

The landscape is picturesque, areas of sedge, marsh and grasslands alternating with rocky cliffs and outcrop.

In late 80’s the park also became Kenya’s first rhino sanctuary and is today home to both the White and Black Rhinos.

Lions, leopards, hippos, giraffes, waterbucks are equally at home in this unique park.

Afternoon game drive in the park.

Dinner and overnight stay.


DAY 8 : LAKE NAKURU – MASAI MARA  (6H)

After breakfast , we depart for the Masai Mara National Reserve.

Drive through the town of Narok and continue to Sekenani.

Entry into the reserve.

Check-in and lunch.

Afternoon game drive in the reserve.

 A natural extension of the Serengeti National Park in Tanzania,

The Mara is world famous for its vast assemblages of plains game together with their associated predators.

It is a country of breath-taking vistas, a panorama of vast rolling plains and rounded hills of intermittent groves of acacia woodlands and dense thickets of shrub.

The whole is bisected by the Mara river and its tributaries which are margined by luxuriant riverine forest.

Dinner and overnight stay.


DAY 9 : MASAI MARA

Early morning game drive followed by breakfast at the Camp

Mid-morning and afternoon game drives.

Your resident driver-guide will be only glad to show all that makes the Mara so unforgettable!

All meals and overnight at the Camp.


DAY 10 : MASAI MARA

DAY 11 : MASAI MARA – NAIROBI – DEPART

Breakfast at the Camp.

Check-out and then we drive to Nairobi.

On arrival , transfer to the ‘Carnivore’ restaurant for farewell lunch. Evening transfer to the Airport for the departure of your international  flight.
